Codependency

Yes. I am codependent. I have been in a relationship for 27 years.

I wish it was with the same person but sadly it hasn’t been.

I don’t feel complete unless I’m part of a couple.

I’ve screwed up some of the best things in my life because of this.

I get insecure. I panic inside. I try to hide it but it seeps out.

I drove Jess away. A good girl. Professional. Independent. Honest. Trustworthy.

I drove her away. Now I’m empty again.

Empty again. It’s the only thing I can depend on. Is that I’ll be empty again.

It’s like a guarantee. Emptiness.
